Two parents are desperately looking for their 19-year-old son, Sean Sidi, who went missing on May 21 after visiting his old high school teacher in the Hayes Valley neighborhood. According to his family, Sean recently suffered from a traumatic brain injury several months ago and is “medically fragile.” Last Thursday, Sean left to visit a former high school teacher at the International High School at about 11:40 a.m. Video surveillance confirms Sean did in fact visit the school. He was last heard from at about 1:30 p.m. that same day when he spoke with his father via cellphone, according to his family. He told his dad he was catching the bus to go to the park. His cellphone went dead at about 2 p.m. and he has not been seen or heard from since. His family says he rarely leaves the house for long periods of time and he always keeps his family informed of his whereabouts. “His family is concerned about him and they have not been able to locate him” Sgt. Ann Mackenzie told us. She wouldn’t comment any further and told us to talk to the SFPD’s media relations offices. Sean is 5-foot-5,120 lbs, with a slim build. He is of Caucasian/Asian descent, and has dark-brown hair and dark-brown eyes. Sean was last seen wearing a black-and-grey hooded North Face rain jacket, blue jeans and black canvas shoes. He just came out of an arm cast and was wearing a black splint on his left wrist and arm. He has braces on his teeth. His mother, Lynn Ching, told us they have posted flyers through Golden Gate Park and Baker Beach, the cellphone radius of his last phone call. They’ve also been trying to track down if and when he ever got on the bus using his Clipper Card. “He said he was going to the park, but didn’t identify which park, it was hard to hear because of all of the traffic, but it didn’t appear, from phone records, that he was going to meet someone, but we don’t really know for sure,” Ching said.  She reiterated his medical issues; Sean had been in a life-threatening accident a few months ago and is still in recovery. Although he was able to walk and talk, a trip or light blow to the head would be devastating to him, she said. “Sean is not the same person he was before, but he’s doing pretty well, nonetheless, he’s pretty fragile, so we’re concerned,” Ching said. If you have seen him or have information about his whereabouts, please contact Sgt Ann Mackenzie, SF Police - 415-734-3268.
